THE RENOWN
MONSOON MAKES THINGS UNCOMFORTABLE
DUKE AND DUCHESS WELL
(By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Australian & N.Z. Cable Association)
(Received 7th June, 1.50 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. A wireless from the Renown states that Whit Monday was notable for the re-crossing of the Line which, however, was not celebrated according to sea lore. Flying fish are messengers of Neptune and by coincidence, one arrived on deck at the exact moment the Equator was crossed, but killed itself against a gun turret, so any message from the monarch, remained undelivered. The monsoon continues to make conditions uncomfortable. The Duke and Duchess are both well.
