(By Elec,trie Telegraph—Copyright) (Australian & N.Z. Cable Association)
PARIS, sth June. Should a magistrate’s lawyer wife appear before him as counsel? Such a situation created an unseemly brawl in tho law courts a few days ago.. Opposing counsel suggested that such a relationship was out of placo and unfair to the litigant. Magistrate and counsel exchanged heated insults, and then blows, and had to bo separated. The sequel yesterday was a fierce sixround sword duel fought .in deadly earnest in another lawyer’s garden. One of the duellists was twice deeply wounded in the arm.
Doctors stopped the duel, but the op ponents were not reconciled.
