In the House of Commons Sir W. Jovnson Hicks, replying to questions, said the examination of Arcos papers was not completed and he could not make a statement till Tuesday. The Soviet periodically supplied the Foreign Office with a list "of employees in Arcos. He could not state the amount of damage done during the raid. A long discussion ensued on the Opposition's demands for a day debate. Sir W. Joynson Hicks promised a statement and eventually the 26th of May was chosen.
