LIQUOR AS MEDICINE

The American Medical Association adopted a resolution to the effect that physicians be empowered to prescribe such amounts of alcoholic liquor for patients as I he. case requires. The Association recommended the. 'abandonment of the existing system whereby physicians are allowed to prescribe only a small fixed quantity. It also advocated the withdrawal of the alleged nonalcoholic drinks sold as medicine, which are actually intoxicating and consumed in tremendous quantities as beverages.
