PANTOMIME. AND MUSICAL COMEDY

The opening prodtieiimi at the Tlieatre Royal is a fascinating extravaganza entitled '"Laughing lime of 1927.'’ a type of musical show that has proved a wonderful success in the larger centres of Australia ami Nefv /calami. The full strength of Mr McKay s English ami Australian Company is used in the interpretation of this rollicking musical, absurdity, including such wellknown and popular artists as Maudit 1 . Stewart, comedienne; Madolitie Knight, mezzo-soprano; Laurie McLeod, Eastern dancer; Georgia Martin, eccentric cotnedienue; .May Brooke, instrumentalist; Frank Perryn, English comedian; Arthur Meredith, dame impersonator; Will Reyuor, tenor; Jack Raymond, juvenile lead; Walter George, producer; and tlio Pour Little Kellys, amazing juvenile musicians. In addition to the principals a- ballet ol pretty and talented young ladies as well as a first-ciass orchestra, add to the brightness of the various productions. The dressing is on a most elaborate scale, while the general staging is up to metropolitan standard. On Tuesday afternoon the funniest of all pantomimes “Aladdin,” is to be staged at 2.30, when reduced prices are to be charged. The season is to conclude on Tuesday night with the pantomime “Aladdin.” or The Magic Lamp. ■Seats may he reserved at B egg’s without extra charge.
