SYNTHETIC PETROL

"L<j Matin" states that the secrel of svntlici.ii! petrol has been discovered by M. Iludihert, Director of the National Society of Research. The method is to submit a mixture of hydrogen and carbon oxide to a pressure of 200 atmospheres and (hen lilter over a catalyser, thereby obtaining petrol, which after distillation, is suitable for use in aeroplanes and inolors. Jt may also be conVerted into purified petrol for commercial oil and paraffin.
