WOMEN TOTAL A FIFTH LIMITATION URGED (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Australian N.Z Cable Association.' LONDON, 13th Oct. The Vice-Chancellor of Oxford in a valedictory Latin oration specially referred to the association of the Queenslander Stephenson and another student with Communism, declaring he was glad that neither of the students who were associated in the illegal conspiracy was an .Englishman. The- Vice-Chancellor went on to express alarm at tlio rapid increase in women graduates, saying: “L did my utmost to secure the admission of women to degrees. I do not regret it, but nobody foresaw women, as they at present do, total one-fifth of oil!' students.” He pleaded that, the number of women must he legally limited.
