PERMANENT BUILDING SOCIETY OF NELSON
SPECIAL MELTING OF DIRECTORS
A special meeting of the directors of this Society was held last evening, when the secretary produced a copy of ilia Profit anil Loss Account, of the Soeietv's operations for the half year ended 30th September 1926. which disclosed a very satisfactory state of affairs.
The gross profit made for the half: year amounted to £5798 2s 3d, and af-. lev setting aside interest due depositors, the directors decided to declare a profit for the half year of 5 per cent per annum absorbing £2156 19s 2d. leaving a ciedif. balance of £llß4 3s Id. It- was decided to add £l.lOO to the Reserve Fund, and this Fund now stands at £12,600. During (he half year loans amounting lo £25.fG4 were advanced, and business during the half year was extremely satisfactory. Shareholders in the maturing series (Dll) can obtain the value of their shares, £2O 7s each, at any time, and a considerable, stun amounting lo roughly £4.000 will no circulated among shareholders during the next few days.
An advertisement in this issue states that a new scries of shares will date from Monday 18lh Inst-, and that the public can will: confidence take up shares in the Society as a safe and profitable investment.
