TAPAWERA GUN CLUB

The Tapawera Club was opened on Saturday under adverse weather conditions which no doubt made a difference to the attendance. Nevertheless .enthusiasts {com Wakefield to Glenhope faced the elements, and good scores were recorded.

In the unavoidable absence of Mr Hudson, M.P.. the President, Mr Alfred Kinzett declared the club open and called on tin- veteran. .Mr Jag. Eden, to fire the firs I shot.

Afternoon tea was provided by the Indies, to whom the club are indebted for turning out on such an afternoon.

Later Mr F. W. Gibbs presented the trophies to the ladies, vi.z. Mesdames Alfred Kinzett, Win. P. Hill and C. Eden, who were successful in nominating the Inst tlu-c.i in the ladies' nomination match. .Mr W. Kinzett secured thy novice handicap trophy and Gilbert Biggs smilingly lined up for the ''honbv."

The cJub wish to thank the donors of trophies, the visiting competitors, and all those who so ably assisted to make the afternoon a success. Appended are the results, only the placed men being given : Ist match sweepstake. 5 birds: C P. Harris 5. J. Eden 5. W. P. [Till 5. The shoot oil resulted : J. Eden Ist C P Harris 2nd. W. P. lliD 3rd.

2nd mat eh. ladies' nomination. 10 birds: A. Kinzett 10. Ist; W. R Hill 9. 2nd : C. Eden 8. 3rd.

3rd match, novice handicap. 3 birds: W. Kinzett 3 (Ist after shoot- off); F. W. Gibbs 3 (2nd after shoot- off); A. A. Steer 2. and E. 0. Malley 2. tied for 3rd place.

4th match, sweepstake. 7 birds: A. Kinzett 6. A. A. Steer 6. C. Eden 6. The shoot off resulted: Steer Ist Eden 2nd. Kinzett 3rd.
