CRUELTY TO A CHILD
WOMAN .SENTENCED TO HARD LABOUR (United Preii Association.) NAPIER, 11th October. Lilian Hilda Timnis, a married woman, was sentenced to two months' hard labour for neglecting a child. Evidence showed that a baby was left for the greater part of a day alone in a hmise, sleeping oh sacks, with no food. Its thumbs were sore as a result of continual sucking. The Magistrate. Mr Dyer, characterised the offence as inhuman.
