EXPLOSION
IN A NATAL COLLIERY HEAVY LOSS OF LIFE rescue operations (lly Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Australian A N.Z. Cable Association.; CAPETOWN, Oct. 1). A terrible gas explosion occurred at the Durban navigation colliery situated at Newcastle (Natal). The shaft was completely destroyed. A large number of natives and four whites are entombed while 116 natives and four whites were killed.
Rescue parties are tit. work, and already TO dead natives have been brought out.
