PROGRAMME FOR GALA DAY
At a well-attended meeting of the Tub una Sands Association Sports Committee a comprehensive programme for the gala on Labour Day was approved. Children have been specially catered for, and there will be foot i lives, skipping fur girls, obstacle bicycle race, treasure hunt, etc. There will also be open motor events. A letter was received from the Y..M.0.A. amateur athletic club stating that their members would not be able, to take part in the events suggested by the committee. It was decided to rope in an area for sports purposes and the public will be requested to keep outside the enclosure. It was also decided to provide seating accommodation, ..Mr Chapman having volunteered (o lend any timber necessary for the purpose. It is hoped also fo have a basket ball competition, open to primary school teams for the Newman Challenge Shield.
