CROQUET
>♦■ AN ASSOCIATION FORMED A well-attended meeting of croquetplayers representing the various clubs was recently held, when it was unanimously decided to form a Nelson Croquet Association. The following were elected to the executive:—President, Colonel J. E. Hume; secretary and treasurer, Mrs Scott; delegates to the Association: Nelson IClub, Mesdames Waters and Acheson; Hinemoa Club, Mesdames W. Deo and Frost; Tahuna Club, Mesdames Levy and Wastney, Riwaka Club were also well represented, and a letter from the Motueka Club was read, asking f6r information "with a view to joining. Tho executive will shortly meet t>; frame conditions for competing for the gold medal presented by tho New Eraland Croquet Council and a tropliy presented by the president. •All croquet players were most enthusiastic, and are Keenly looking for ward to the opening of the season.
