Boon) said he also had a pleasant duty to perform, and on behalf of a number of Rugby supporters, asked Mr YV. Heed junior to accept a present for his wife and himself. The speaker referred to the sacrifices made by the recipients on behalf of R-ugbv 'football, and said, that, Mi- Heed had helped to coach th t , Nelson representative backs for live seasons. _ Mr Boon also mentioned Mr Heed's splendid record in representative football, he having represented Nelson on over 70 occasions, which was something to be proud of. Messrs McGregor and Reed, who were both taken by surprise, suitably returned thanks. A successful and happy function was terminated with tho singing of "Nelson Will Shine To-night" and "Auld Lang Syne."
