PARIS, Sept. 6. Charles §erlandiev, a retired merchant residing at Hi. Denis, was so opposed to shingling that he announced lie would kill himself if his two daughters followed the fashion. The girls were ‘unable to impress upon their father, who was cut off from the outside world' because he was an invalid, that hairdressing *f arduous were changing, and realising that argument was useless they shingled without further discussion. When they reached home to-night they found that their father had carried out the threat and shot himself.
