BROKEN BARRIERS”
“Broken Barriers,” a screen version of Meredith Nicholson's novel, has what apppars to he the biggest all-star cast of the year. James Kirkwood appears as Ward Trenton, estranged from Ids wife (Winifred Bryson), who will not allow him a divorce to the gnl lie loves (Norma Shearer). The story hinges on the efforts of this pair to smash the barricades of convention that stand in the way of their happiness, and shows the effect on a wide number of people of their efforts to change old morals for new. Mae Busch appears ns a girl infatuated with a lively man-about-town, played by Adolphe Menjou, who was recently so successful in Chaplin's “Woman of Paris’ and Lubitsch s "The Marriage Circle.” A good supporting programme is promised.
