WELLINGTON, This Day.' The population of urban areas in four cities according to the recent census is: Auckland 192,176, an increase of 34,419.
\Yellington, 121,324, an increase of 13,836. Christchurch, 118,408, an increase of 12,738. Dunedin, which had the advantage of Exhibition visitors 85,103, an increase of 12,848. The only other places over 20,000 are: Wanganui 26,130 and Invercargill 21,862. The Auckland percentage of increase is 21.82, but New Plymouth, with 26.04 is actually the highest. The population of ottier urban areas is—Palmerston North, 19,745; Napier,
17,933; Timaru, 16,817; Hamilton, 16,070; New Plymouth, 15,938; Gisborne 14,834; Hastings, 14,638; Nelson 11,762. ...
