A London press cable states that it is reported that the New Zealand athlete, A. E. Porritt, is to marry Miss Moliie Bond, who is a relative of Mr. Neames, uf Wanganui. The marriage is to take piace on 15th July. A Hastings Press Association telegram states that Father. Christopher iSoular died this morning, aged 80 years. He was born at Nantes, France, and served in the Fra neo-Prussian war. He was ordained in 1878 and came the following year to New Zealand, where he devoted his life to missionary work amongst the Maoris of Taranaki, Wanganui River, and Hawke’s Bay. He had spent the last, three years in Hastings in retirement.
