WAKEFIELD
ANNUAL MEETING OF BOWLING CLUB The annual meeting of the Wakefield Bowling Club was held in the Y.M.C.A. Rooms, Wakefield, when there was a representative gathering of members. After reading the minutes of the last annual meeting the secretary presented his annual report and balance sheet, the latter showing an improved credit balance.
The report showed that, although the club was unsuccessful in securing the Washbourn Shield from Richmond, a very enjoyable season had been spent in inter-club and other matches, visitors commenting very favourably on the good playing-surface of the green. The senicr singles championship had been won by N. Win. and the junior singles by W. E. Ronlo.
Officers were then elected as follows: President, Air H. G. Kingsland; vicepresidents, Messrs W. Ballard and W. E. Poole; secretary and treasurer, Mr 11. Ricketts (re-elected); auditor, Mr R. Russell; centre delegate, Mr 11. G. Kingsland; selection epnnnittee, Messrs Clung, Ricketts, TunniclilV! green committee. -Messrs Shutlleworth, Render, Russell, Lawn, TunnidilT. Burgess, Franklvn.
The retiring president, Mr H. Ricketts, thanked the members for their cooperation during the year, and mentioned the great help that the ladies had given during the season.
A very hearty vole of thanks was accorded the retiring president for his untiring work during the season. As it had been suggested that many members of outside chilis would like to use the green during the winter months, it was resolved that honorary members, being members of other chibs, be elected at an annual subscription of 7/C. The president offered prizes for a pairs competition for next season, and lie was heartily thanked for his offer. Messrs Caselberg and Solly were elected new members. Several other matters were discussed during the evening, and the usual votes ot thanks were passed.
