WANGAPEKA AND MQTUPIKO RIDINGS A largely attended meeting of the above association was held at Tapawera on Saturday, 19th June, 1926. The President (Mr A. N. Wilkinson) occupied the chair. 'J'hn following resolutions were carried : (1) "That this Association objects to £SOO or any portion of £SOO being spent on Rabbit Island until the by-roads are put in order."—Members said they were opposed to rates being spent on treeplanting for the benefit of posterity, while present ratepayers were paying rates and were suffering, inasmuch as the by-roads leading to their properties, were in a bad state of repair.—(2) "That this Association requests Crs. Berryman and Jones to oppose the taking of a poll by the Waimea County Council for the raising of a loan of £15,000 for bridge." Members expressed the opinion that if a poll was taken, it would not be carried, as County Councils throughout New Zealand were urging the Government to take over the Main Highways and maintain them (almost completely) by motor taxation or loan.—(3) "That this Association requests Crs. Jones and Berryman to oppose any more lar-sealing on the Stoke road." A committee consisting of Messrs Wilkinson, Jones, Berryman, Pagan, and E. L. Newport, was appointed to make inquiries as to the legal position and possibilities of redress in reference to the "declared" main roads policy of the Waimea County Council and to the spending of money out of the general fund on Government roads by the Wai'rhea County Council. " EVERY ORGAN SUFFERS If your food is not properly digested every organ in your body suffers from want of nburishment. Constipation results and you become pale and sallow, nervous and anaemic. Avoid this by taking Chamberlain's Tablets. They will assist digestion and proper assimilation of food, thus providing nourishment for the whole body. Chamberlain's Tablets strengthen the bowels to act naturally without assistance.
