FIRST SOD TURNED
NEW LINK BETWEEN NEW SOUTH WALES AND QUEENSLAND 'By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Australian & N.Z. Cable Association.) SYDNEY, This Day. The first sod of the Kvogle to South Brisbane railway was turned. The line forms a new iron link between NewSouth Wales and Queensland, and affords an outlet for the produce of a large rich agricultural area previously not served o-n the north coast district of New South Wales. It also constitutes the first definite action in the direction of unification of railway gauges in the Commonwealth.
