NELSON CLUB A men's foursome stroke handicap for a trophy donated bv Mr IL S. Leggatt was played on Saturday afternoon. Weather conditions were perfect, and some good cards were returned. The winners were two low' handicap men—C. P. Palmer and N. Rout, with a gross score of 81 and 75 net. The following cards were handed in:— N. Dodds 94—8—86; Stalker and Vercoe 926 —86; Oldershaw and A. Allan 100—15—85; L. Travers and Dagger 100 —14—86; Mentone and Mowbray 104 —17——87; Coombridge and McCracken 108—16 —92. i! The first round matches of the Captains’ Trophy must be played by Friday next, the 25th inst. Entries for the championship, Leggatt Cup and Cock Cup close during the approaching week end. The second round of the Encounter Shield will be played next Saturday.
