WELLINGTON MARKETS W. Burbidge and Co. report an* improved market this week, for apples and pears, Sturmers, coloured dessert apples,: Winter Coles, new laid eggs, red and grey pumpkins, walnuts, pie melons,, and new potatoes all in keen demand. Wo again this year have to report having had the first new potatoes, these having been grown bv Mr 0. Sutton in the Richmond district and•realising 6d per lb, .tins being equivalent'to the large sum. of £56 per ton. ; Current prices:—Delicious 5s to 9s; Jonathans 4a 6d to 6s 6d; Statesman 5s 6d to 6s 6d; Sturmers 5s to 6s 6d; cookers 4s 6d to 6s; Winter; Coles and Nelis pears 7s to 13s; cooking pears 73 to 9s ;all. bushel cases. Lemons 25s a bushel. Red pumpkins 15s, grey 10s; swedes 6s, carrots 7s to 10s, all full sacks. New laid eggs walnuts lOd per lb; fowl wheat 8s bushel f.o.b. ; red Dakotas, potatoes, £8 5s per ton. DAIRY PRODUCE Messrs Balgety and Co., Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house under date of the 17th inst:— “Butter.—Market quiet. We quote New .Zealand finest Salted 176 s (1765), Danish 178 s (178 s), finest Australian .salted 174 s (1745) unsalted 174 s (1745), ‘‘Cheese.—Market steady at present prices. New.
