r J|he death occurredy esterday after a long illness of Captain N. R. de le Cour Cornwall, at the age of 58. Deceased was for some 20 years an officer of the New Zealand Stopping Company, his last command being the Turn. Kina. Mrs Davies, of Queen’s Drive, Nelson, is a sister of deceased. Flags were flying half-mast high on the shipping oftices and vessels in Port to-day as a mark of respect to the memory of the late Captain Cornwall. The Rev. Amos Reader, Methodist minister, of Dargaville, died yesterday in the Dargaville Hospital, after an operation, lie was stationed at Motueka. during 1903-1905, and had only been two months in his present station at the time of death

The death occurred about midnight in the Masterton Hospital, on June 9th, of Mrs Beatrice Cole, aged 33, wife of .Mr Charles N. Cole, of Wrigley-street, Masterton ,after a short illness. The deceased was the youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs E. A. Andrews, of Mount Albert, Auckland, and formerly of Masterton, and was very popular among a wide circle of friends for her many splendid qualities. Deep sympathy will he extended to Mr Cole in his sad bereavement. 'The funeral took place on Friday afternoon, 11th, the cortege being one of the largest seen in Masterton. including representative citizens and members of the Druids’ and Masonic or ders. r i he hearse and coffin was covered with beautiful wreaths. The large attendance and the floral tributes from far and wide testified to the high esteem iir which deceased was held.
