EDUCATION BOARD At the special meeting of the Motueka District High School Committee, held on Thursday evening, it was stated that Mr S. B. Canavan, whose term of four years on the Nelson Education Board as a. representative of the North Ward, had expired, did not intend to seek roelection. Mr Canavan has represented the Motueka district for six years; and at all times has worked well and conscientiously in the interests of education, and for the welfare of the pupils of the various schools in the district. His decision to decline nomination will be received with regret. Mr 0. B. Morris, late secretary of the Motueka School Committee, has consented to nomination, for the vacancy. IWe have observed Mr Can avail’s work on the Education Board for some Years. He has carried out his duties, as he saw them, fearlessly and conscientiously, and has always brought to bear on problems before the Board a considered judgment far above the ordinary).
