WEDDING
COWARD—NEWTORT A very pretty wedding of particular local interest was solemnised on Tuesday June Kith, at the Methodist Church, Nelson, the Rev. Knight officiating, when Ret a May, only daughter of Mr and Mrs <l. VV- Newport, vvak united in the bonds of matrimony to Ernest Harold Coward, of Woodville. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, looked charming in a frock of pale pink satin, her veil I'/'ii'ig embroidered tiiilie, and olrange blossom, and she carried a bouquet of pale pink canielias. and maiden hair fern. The bridesmaids. Miss Myra Moulder ami Miss Madge Emms, both wore pretty irocks of pale gieen crepe de elieite, the bouquets being of marigolds and maiden hair fern, and both wore bandeaux on their head to correspond, Mr Frank Coward, brother of the bridgrnom, acted as best man, and Mr Miller of Nelson, as groomsman. Alter the ceremony a reception was held at the Velma Hall. The happy couple left later for their future home in the North Island. The bride’s travelling flock being of (an kasha cloth with hat and coat to match. The bride’s present to the bridegroom was a gold signet ring, and (lie bridegroom’s present to the bride, a string of pearls, and to (be bridesmaids, gold armlets. The presents Were numerous and valuable, including many handsome cheques.
