AGAINST LOTTERIES
PREMIER’S ATTITUDE ENDORSED (United Press Assoi iation.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. On the motion of Dr. R. Envin the Presbytery adopted a resolution of appreciation of the stand taken by the Prime Minister against lotteries, “which by their frequency, large prizes, and by the strenuous efforts made to sell tickets were demoralising the public by fostering and diffusing the spirit of gambling.”
