Her parents having refused their consent to her marriage, Miss Kuniee Alary Allen, aged 19, whose home is at Manor Farm Cottage, Clayton road, Hook, Surbiton, summoned them before the Kingston magistrates recently, and asked the Bench to give their consent to Her marriage with Mr Cecil Baldwin. The application was made under the Guardianship of Infants Act, 1925, reports flic Daily Telegraph. Applicant said her prospective husband was 19, and her parents’ objection to the marriage was that his earnings of T2 a week were insufficient to support two persons. She alleged that her parents had turned her out of her home, and also said lliat one reason why she desired to get married was that she and her young man had no place to which they could go in their spare time, and they had to walk about the streets. She added that, in anticipation of the magistrates’ decision, she had purchased her trousseau and household linen, and had obtained a furnished room. Mrs Allen, who denied having turned tier daughter out, said she did not wish to sacrifice her daughter to poverty with Baldwin. She would consent to the marriage in 12 months' time, and help to provide a comfortable home for the couple. The mayor said that the magistrates were unanimously' of the opinion that Airs Alien was justified in refusing her consent to the marriage on the ground of the youth of the parties and the man's small earnings. The flench declined to consent to the marriage.
