FRUITGROWERS' FEDERATION AND CONTROL P.OARP (To the Editor.) Sir. — Growers are anxious' to know r.'haf has happened to our export fruit in Wellington. The Federation manag-er-has made statements iu the Wellington Post and Dominion. An official of the Wellington Harbour Board makes epiite a different, statement. Exactly vvhai lias been the position? We have in the district a member of the Frm'l Control Board at Stoke, and two directors of the Fruitgrowers' Federationone at Tasman and one at Mariri. Growers have not been informed as to the position, but doubtless they (the directors) have. Will they tell us what quantity of pro-cooling space was available the last fortnight in this district. Tf any. the reason for not using it. What quantity of export fruit was stored in Wellington not in cool store, and for how long. And what the cost of this storage is, as hits of growers could have provided better storage in their own sheds than storing in an ordinary wharf shed in Wellington. 1 am, etc.'. APPLE EXPORTER. Sir.--The statement made to the Wellington Post by the manager of the Fruitgrowers' Federation and published in your paper hist Saturday will set us apple growers here thinking pretty hard. We hear thai a quantity of export fruit has been stored in Wellington in other than the co.<l store. What quantity or for how long no one here seems to knew. Seeing it is mv fruit, surely it is the Federation or Contra) Board's job to let tin growers know what is happening to the fruit. Several growers are anxious to know what I space was available for pro-cooling expert fruit at Stoko. Mapua and Mofnekn during the peiiod of congestion a! Wellington.
