Thousands of bales of woe] were destroyed iii a spectacular lire, in which a, live storey dockside warehouse at Shadewell was'complelely gutted. Thirty lire engines converged on the scene from all parts of London. Three lire floats assisted from the Thames. ll took 300 iiretneu several hours pouring in the water from every angle to subdue the out break.
