ANOTHER ATTK.MPT TO DERAIL TRAIN (My Electric Telegraph.— ;Auatra)«ai' A M.Z. Cable Außociation) PALMER-TON N.. April 3. Another attempt at railway derailment similar to thai on .March 8, when cattle stop rails were placed across the metals at Terrace End and Kelvin Grove Roads crossings. Mas perpetrated at a crossing two miles on the Feilding side of I'.innyll'ax'pe this morning. The engine of the early goods train which leaves Palmerstoit North at 3.30 a.m. for Marton crashed into an obstacle at the crossing mentioned at 4.30. the effect being simdar to that when the limited express met like trouble at Terrace End and Kelvin ('.rove. There was again a fortunate escape from derailment. A Standard reporter who investigated the matter learned thai six wooden cattle stop beams had been laid across the permanent way and were smashed, scattered by the bogey wheels of the engine. The individuals concerned did not stop al that. for it is staled the signal wires at lUinnylhorpe station was also cut. The police were advised and will make an investigation.
