The Court said the words "bona fide onerous holders" were more or less meaningless in English law, but an eminent Scottish lawyer gave evidence that "onerous" ha/1 a. clear technical meaning in Scottifti law for valuable consideration. Plaintiffs bad failed to establish a claim on this.
