(To the Editor.) Sir, —I wonder who was responsible for fixing the Newman Shield match, Country v. Town, for this week. Harvesting is in full swing now, and the country players cannot b r , expected to leave that work to play cricket, especially' as some of them have to get away for the Hawke Cup match next. week. 1 think the above final Newman Shield match should he played at the end of the season.
