NELSON AND THE EXHIBITION
A DISAPPOINTING DISPLAY Judging by remarks made at yesterdav afternoon's lheeting <d the Nelson Harbour Board Nelson's display at the Exhibition is anything but creditable. The Hon. W. W. Snodgrass' stated a boy's description lie had seen was “The Nelson Court consists of four apples and two photos of Nelson College." The chairman: There is no doubt tlie display lias been very disappointing to many Nelsoniuns who have visit oil the Exhibition. Mr Kelly: Is it smothered? Mr Drummond: Better have no representation than a bad one. Other members felt that tie* Board's .t'loo had "gone west." The chairman : It would have been much better if Nelson bad gone in on its own but the feeling was that better results would be obtained by combination with Wellington. The Hon. W. W. Snodgrass: The tiling had been badly managed in Wellington and Dunedin. The chairman said one person had described the Court to him as being inon* like a graveyard than anything else—two blocks of granite with mineral specimens set out around.
