In the bowling tournament the pairs have reached the post-section stage. '6?, being left in. in two sections the British players tied and were beaten in the play off. In another, their pair won one tie, but still have have to play another game.

In the pairs competition there are 232 entries, 16 greens being required, with two sections on each. Nelson players cnnie out as follows:—Logan and Dew, 1 win 4 losses'; Kingsland and Foster, sWins 1 loss; Kirk and Whiting lied with Hard ley Bros., of -Auckland. an ( ] in the play-off won* and will have to playoff for green winners; De„ Bros, tied with Chequin, of Christchurch, after winning 4 out of 5, and won the play-off for green winners. The rinks, in which 17 are left out of 134 rinks, play off for the championship to-day. This year in the rink competition seven and eight wins out of eight games go into the finals. Usually those with six wins have taken part in the finals.

For the forthcoming bowling carnival for tli (-Australasian championship, commencing on 22nd February. 230 entries have been received from all the Statsc, New Zealand, and Fiji. So .far 20 entries hnv been received from New Zealand. The time for closing entries has been extended until Monday next.
