United States Lawn Tennis Association will consider at an annual meeting on 6th February will lie a recommendation hv tli,. chairman of the Davis Cup Committee, Julian Mvrick. to send an American team to Australia next winter. The executive committee of the Association has already approved of tin* recommendation. and now only waits action of the full body of the Association. Considerable, disappointment- is felt here as well as in Australia over the failttr,, to send a team this year after the Association had approved of the step, and privately many committeemen sympathised with the conclusions expressed in cabled reports front Australia that the latter might he reluctant to despatch annually competitors for the Dittos Cun at great expense, while the United States is net desirous of reciprocating by sending a team during th c off season. It is explained that, tin* chief American olavcrs find it inconvenient with their American obligations to take the long journey ~ntailed in the Australian trip.
