Ocean discoveries of far-reaching importance have been made by the Herman survey ship Meteor, which has arrived from a cruise in tin South Atlantic since. April. Scientists aboard report that submarine currents were scientifically calculated for the first time. They found warm water from the North Atlantic flows at a great dentil to 2000 miles south of the Equator, where it rises to the surface. The Smith lYilar current Hows m A h between two cur rents, and luars food whnli whales and other lisli follow. The ship will remain at sea two Years.
