MISHAP DURING LAUNCHING
STEAMER’S TAIL SHAFT BECOMES DISLODGED (United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. A mishap occurred to the harbour ferry steamer Muritai when being put into the water from the Patent Slip at Evan’s Bay this morning. The vessel had been up for overhaul and when coming off the cradle, the tail shaft became dislodged and water poured in through the apertive. The beach being sandy nearby it was decided to beach the ship.
