DROWNING FATALITY
WHILE CROSSING RIVER IN PUNT

TAUMARUNUI, This Day
Phillip Samuels, aged 19 of Nihoiiiho, was drowned yesterday in the Ohura river.
Deceased and a mate were crossing the river in a punt, aided by a rope pegged from bank to bank. Deceased was pulling the boat- across and when quite close to the bank fell into the river and disappeared. No trace of the body was found till late yesterday afternoon.
