RICHMOND REFUSES TO JOIN IN On Tuesday evening a deputation from tiie Nelson Provincial Progress League waited on the Richmond Borough Council in connection with a contribution towards the. cost of a Nelson display at the Dunedin exhibition. Mr XV. J. Moffatt (president) forcibly put the case for the. League, stating that £35 more was inquired and a..-,king the Council to grant this amount. After discussion the Mayor (Mr O. Kidd) moved, seconded by Cr Kelly, that £lO he granted.
On the motion being put. it was defeated. only the mover and the seconder supporting.
