Flinders Island mutton bird packers are vravely perturbed at the action of t.’hr New Zealand Comptroller of Customs in classifying the birds as preserved meat instead of as provisions as formerly. This will mean an additi >n! 40 per cent., approximately 16 6 pc" hundred birds, which it is stated will absolutely block Tasmanian impoitat <ms to New Zealand. The matter will be brought before the Federal Tariff and Industries Board at- the earliest i ppoitunity.
