ON THORN’S POULTRY FARM

LONDON, Jan. 16 The body at Thorn’s was found at 11 o’clock in a state of decomposition at a depth of a few feet, close to where the suitcase was discovered. Two portions were contained in a sack and the third in a box.

Before the discovery of the remains of a suitcase was fo-und at Thom’s farm buried at a depth of three feet. It. contained spectacles, handkerchiefs, and underclothing marked “E. C. Cameron.” Miss Cameron .was last seen carrying a similar case. She habitually wore spectacles.

The developments were the result of Thorn’s visit and statement to the police, who questioned him for eighteen hours. They then hurried to the farm, and turned over rubbish heaps and cabbage patches. ■ A dramatic feature of the investigations was that the fathers of.both Thom and Cameron watched the digging without seeing each other.

The police refused Thorn permission to see his son and advised him to go to the poultry farm. The son is deeply religious and named Ids poultry farm "Wesley.” LONDON,. Jan. 15.

Public excitement in the Crowborough mystery was fired by the discovery of an attache case. The police began digging on Norman Thorn’s poultry farm at dawn, and after twenty minutes the inspector ordered a man to “dig here” and a few moments later Elsie Cameron’s suit ease was unearthed at a depth of four feet.. It contained fawn costumes, a white silk jumper, a nightdress', a pair of shoes, stockings, '.some letters, and toilet things that girls cany when staying away for the weekend. The police immediately augmented the search party until' there were fifteen men digging in all parts of a two acre plot. . ■ The floor boards of Thorn’s, hut were wrenched , up and three ponds, dragged but without result. Meanwhile, Miss Cameron’s father arrived apd was immensely, impressed by the discovery of Elsie’s spectacles, saying that his daughter would not go anywhere without them as she could not see without spectacles, -r ■

Thorn’s father was also watching the digging and was greatly agitated by the developments. It is understood that tho younger Thorn at the Police Station retains his self possession, despite close questioning extending over many hours.

THORN TO BE CHARGED WITH MURDER

LONDON, Jan. 16. It is officially stated that the remains are those of Elsie Cameron.

Thorn will be charged with mui-der at Crowborough to-day. Tho h.ody was found under the floor of a chicken house. A portion of the clothing is still missing. . LONDON, Jan. 16.

Thorn was charged with wilful murder at Crowborough before [Magistrates this afternoon, only formal evidence being heard. Accused was remanded.
