. .iTtve weather is still very unseasonable if Of tennis. The Waimea tournament on boxing Day was postponed until a later, date, wliicih was unfortunate, as no less than forty-two couples had entered, ylahd., there is no doubt that- it would
/have- been the largest yet held in Nelson, Ihariks mostly being due to the courtesy .of the Nelson Club in having .granted their courts. The Nelson Club , iare holding an open mixed tournament on Ne,w Year’s Day, and entries from visitors and other clubs should make the tournament equally as successful as the previous tournament would have been. 1 This will provide players with a first class day’o sport and thanks will again be due to the Nelson Club in liav- - img provided it, Entries will be accepted until 9.30 a.m. oil the -day at the courts, and' play starts at| ten o’clock. All players, will have five sets at least. Players attention is called to the advertisement iii this issue.
