JAPANESE STEAMER ON FIRE

VANCOUVER, Dec. 30.
A message from Los Angeles reports that the Japanese passenger steamer Ginyomarn, bound from Valparaiso for Japan caught- fire. The vessel is calling for assistance, her position being northwest of Acapulco, Mexico. She is asking that, aid co.ne quickly. All the passengers were lowered in lifeboats. Five of the crew are remaining aboard.
