After 60 hours’ deliberation the jury at the trial of Kid McCoy at Los Angeles for the murder of Theresa Moss, stood seven to five for acquittal, several jurymen-holding out for. hanging. McCoy testified, that the-woman committed suicide in his presence before he could prevent her. , Early interest-in the 1925 Davis Cup indicates there will he a record entry. Switzerland is the second nation to enter.
CAIRO, Dec. 29. "“A strong hid for popular support was made in a Wafd manifesto signed by Zaghlul. It- condemns ZAvar’s unconstitutional acts in defiance of public opinion and particularly denounces the dissolution and the modification of the electoral law. It accuses the Government of interfering with the freedom of elections, and concludes by declaring the Government will he held responsible for its actions and the consequences thereof. ... The Sudan Government is signing an agreement with a British group to build a nine span steel bridge of 1150 yards over the White Nile connecting Khartoum with Omdurman- -and costing £250,000 to £300,000. . ,
