- i * a Certificate “Overland” Non-Stop Endurance conomy Trial V drifts 7. Overland Touring Car, Serial No, 9982, was selected by Messrs. ’ W. R. Carey and H. C. Harley, Members of this Association, from a number of boxed Overland Cate in the Railway Yard, Christchurch, on December 4th, 1924. 2. They personally supervised the unpacking , marked certain parts, and have certified that this car has not been altered in any way from standard equipment. 3. This car has also been compared with other stock Overland Cars and is identical, with the addition of a Stewart Extra Air, side screens and two Spotlights. 4. The engine was under official supervision continuously from 7.30 p.m., Friday, 12th December, to 7.31 p.m., Friday, 19th December, 1924. 5. All petrol and oil used during the Trial was accurately measured, checked and recorded. 6. The route covered all conditions of road travel and embraced more than an average proportion of hill climbing. 7. And that the following data is correct : — Time Engine has ran continuously, 168 hours 1 min. Time spent in checking controls with road wheels stationary, S hours 18 mins. Total mileage recorded 3367 miles. Average speed throughout, deducting time spent in ' controls, 20.69 miles per hour. Total amount of petrol used, 110 gallons 7.4 pints. Average mileage per gallon of petrol 30.354. ? Total amount of lubricating oil used 3 gallons less 7 pints of oil drawn from crank case at conclusion of trial.
