BOWLS
NELSON CLUB
It is doubtful if in the whole history of Nelson bowls a season has been so hampered on account of rain, but Saturday last saw the greens in swing again, and despite their heaviness some good bowling was seen. If the weather continues fine, both greens should be in excellent condition for the big centre tournament on Thursday, Friday and Saturday of this week. It will be a
battle between local clubs, as rinks from a distance leave it till .Easter to visit Nelson. The whole of the full rink games on January Ist will bo played on the Nelson greens, as by so- doing it helps the section play and makes it easier to play any ties off on the same day. The pairs will be played on Friday, and will be divided between Nelson and Maitai greens, and the finals of both will be played on Saturday. There will he .spare rinks on Nelson green all three days for those not playing in the tournament. Draw for full rink games on Nelson
