WELLINGTON, This Day The annual report of the Registrar of the Friendly Societies states that during 1923 the membership increased by 3452 or 4.27 per cent on the previous year. The gross fundsi of the societies increased by £154,260 from £2,593,692 to £2.747,952. The average capital per member is £32 12s 6d. The total interest-earnings of sick and funeral funds was £123,153 for the year or a rale equal to £5 10s lOd per cent, an indication that in making investment's advantage has been,taken of, the high interest rates ruling. A mortality rate of 8.29 per 1000 is slightly higher than last year: : V" ■- ••
