NEW YORK, Aug. 17,
“Anchored 15 miles off Fire Island,” says an article in the Tribune, “is a 17,000-ton liner flying the British flag and converted into a palatial floating cabaret, where any kind of drink is obtainable. Silverware and linen aboard are stamped with the name of the former German liner Friederich der Grosse. The vessel’s name has been painted out. The liner is the sccnc'niglitly of parties given by wealthy patrons. Speed boats and yachts arc plying between llio liner and shore. The vessel frequently shifts Imposition and only those known to the captain know where slu; can be found at all times. Wine sells at £4 a quart.”
