MEMBER WALKS OUT
The atmosphere in .the meeting room of tin; Timavn Technical School Board of Managers was distinctly electric for some Tittle time at a meeting last week. Mr G. T. Roller applied the match bycriticising the method of appointing representatives to the board. Idc implied that tiro Employers’ Association had no right to appoint a representative to the •hoard without: the other employers who were not members of the association having a. voice. . , . . , ~ Mr .1. Scott, springing to his teet, said lie felt that there was a distinct feeling of animosity against him at the hoard’s table, as the representative of the. Employers’ Association. Mr Roller said that- it was not. a personal matter at all. It was simply that llie Act was not being interpreted m the proper manner. For instance, the General Labourers’ Union had about dOU members, and could only appoint one representative, and yet a small union with about 15 members could also appoint one.
